No
more fad diets, no more failures, I
combine Cardio, Strength Straining and
Nutrition to help you achieve your
fitness goals. My programs will help you
learn how to exercise correctly to
achieve your cardio fat burning zone.
You will learn how to Strength Train
safely and effectively, choose healthier
foods, burn calories more efficiently
and increase your overall metabolism so
that you can lose that weight and keep
it off for good.
Increasing
your lean body mass is an important
component of enhancing your overall
fitness as it increases your Resting
Metabolism and in turn will increase the
number of calories burned each day.
What
is Resting Metabolism?
You burn calories through daily
activities such as working and doing
every day chores. Of course, you
also burn calories through planned,
purposeful exercise such as cycling,
walking, swimming, running, weight
training, etc. But did you know
that your body also burns a significant
amount of calories just to stay alive?
The calories you burn to maintain normal
bodily functions such as breathing, your
heart pumping, your brain working, is
your Resting Metabolism. Improving your
body composition will enhance your
workout programs by increasing your
calorie burning capacity before, during
and after the workouts.
Every
week I get questions about cardio--how
often we should do it, how hard we
should work and why we need it in the
first place. Many of us are confused
about what to do because there are
conflicting opinions about how much
cardio we really need.
Our
Bodies Are Made to Move
If
you have a sedentary job, think about
how your body feels at end of the day.
Do
you have tight muscles, an aching back,
feel exhausted even though you haven't
done anything physical? Maybe your
shoulders burn from tension and your
head hurts from staring at a computer
screen for too long. Now, think about
how your body feels after a workout.
Your muscles are warm and flexible, the
blood is pumping through your body,
providing oxygen and energy. You feel
energized, confident, proud of yourself
and ready to take on the world. It's
much different, isn't it? Our bodies are
made to move--not sit around all day and
yet, that's exactly what we're doing.
Cardio
for Better Quality of Life
We
may have forgotten that being active can
make our lives better. Moving around
increases blood flow to our muscles,
strengthens the heart and lungs and
teaches the heart to work more
efficiently.
Take
a moment to review all the benefits of
cardio exercise:

Now
the questions
If
all this is true, why isn't that enough
to get us moving?
Why
do so many of us struggle with being
active?
Sometimes
we just need the extra push, the
encouragement, the direction and
expertise of someone who has been there
herself and is dedicated to help.
That is where I come in. I will
design a program to increase your cardio
level with exercises that you will
actually see results and have fun doing.

Stretching
Most
people realize how important exercise is
to a healthy life style. Unfortunately,
one aspect of training is often
neglected –-the flexibility segment.
Flexibility
training, or stretching is vital to the
success of any fitness program, and
should not be eliminated from your
workout just to save 5 minutes. It can
serve as a natural cool down after a
brisk walk or run, and a great way to
end an intense session in the gym.
Stretching will help prevent injuries as
it increases range of motion. A flexible
body also performs better, because it
requires less energy to move. In effect,
your body becomes a more efficient
machine.
With
an effective flexibility program
circulation and coordination are
enhanced, as is balance and posture.
Studies have also shown that properly
executed stretching exercises will speed
the progress of other areas of your
workout program, such as muscle building
I
will work with you and design a
customized stretching routine that will
improve your flexibility and
coordination.

Exercise,
Nutrition and Menopause
are a trio that
go together to help a woman maintain her
youthful weight or to lose excess weight
during this potentially stressful time
in life. Menopause and Peri-menopause
are periods of time women often
experience abnormal weight gain.
They feel more stressed and fatigued,
are experiencing mood swings and just
are not feeling their best. My
program looks at special nutritional
needs during this transitional
period. Exercise is also extremely
important, as bone density loss during
this time put women at risk for
Osteoporosis. Implementing
weight-lifting or weight-bearing
exercise halts (and can even reverse)
the loss of bone-density. Regular
exercise benefits the heart and bones,
helps regulate weight, and contributes
to a sense of overall well-being and
improvement in mood.
